Laser Genesis - Laser Facial FAQ's

What is Laser Genesis/ Laser Facial?
Laser Genesis is also known as a Laser Facial. It can be used to treat Rosacea, diffuse redness, Poikiloderma of Civatte, enlarged pores, uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring.

How does Laser Genesis work?
By gently heating the upper dermis (middle layer of the skin), Laser Genesis stimulates collagen growth. In addition, small facial capillaries are targeted by the laser, resulting in diminished redness, improvement in Rosacea and Poikiloderma of Civatte. Over the course of your treatments, Laser Genesis can help restore your skin’s youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by aging, sun damage or scars. You will see a healthier complexion as large pores are reduced in size, and minor imperfections are diminished. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

What areas can be treated?
Virtually any part of your body can be safely treated. The face, chest, and neck are the most popular areas for treatment.

When will I see results?
Over the course of four to five treatments you will begin to see the skin texture and redness improve.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on what you are treating with Laser Genesis, will depend on the number of treatments you will need. On average, we recommend 5 to 10 treatments, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.

How long does the treatment take?
The treatment usually takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.

What does the procedure feel like?
Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. We have had some people compare it to the feeling of the sun heating the skin.

What can I expect after the treatment?
Although most patients report few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within 30 to 60 minutes after treatment. You can expect to immediately return to normal activities, utilizing sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities.

Is there downtime?
Other than slight redness 30 to 60 minutes immediately post treatment, there is no downtime with Laser Genesis.
